Our beginning

Working in healthcare introduced us to many people, but somewhere along the way, it also led us back to a simple question: “What truly makes us joyful?” CHANTER began as a small dress shop on Instagram, where we designed work dresses in the colours and details we wished we could find, but rarely could. We held onto one simple belief: even the things we love quietly may be loved by someone else, too. And little by little, we found each other.
As more healthcare professionals discovered our dresses, we began exploring something that was still difficult to find at the time; scrubs in soft pastel shades, made a little more personal. We added our own illustrated embroidery, inspired by real cats and dogs, bringing a playful and personal touch to each piece. Before long, CHANTER became known for pastel scrubs with charming embroidery. But as more possibilities began to unfold, we found ourselves asking the same question again “What could we create next?” That curiosity led us back to the details refining our patterns, exploring new silhouettes, and creating scrubs that felt distinctly our own. Pieces designed for work, yet made to feel just as natural beyond it. From there came our lab coats, surgical caps, and many of the pieces that have shaped CHANTER into what it is today.
We know that choosing clothes through a screen can only tell you so much. Sometimes, you have to see the colour in person, feel the fabric, and try it on to know when something simply feels right. What began as a small shop on Instagram has grown into two CHANTER locations today, spaces where you can take your time, discover the colours and silhouettes that suit you, and find the piece that truly feels like your own. Because to us, the most meaningful moment is when you try something on, look in the mirror, and think “This feels like me.”

Each motif is originally illustrated by CHANTER, with a character and story of its own often inspired by memories, everyday moments, and the real cats and dogs we love.
